A little care goes a long way.
Reusing packaging is absolutely fine, padded envelopes, book mailers and sturdy boxes all work well for books.
The key thing is fit. Choose packaging that’s close to the size of the book so it can’t slide around. A loose book in a large box is much more likely to get bumped or bent in transit.
Wrap the book to protect the corners and edges. Make sure it’s well-cushioned but not overpacked. If it’s a thin paperback picture book, it might be worth placing it between two pieces of card inside the envelope, to keep it flat and protected.
If you’re reusing packaging, make sure it’s clean and sturdy, and remove or fully cover any old labels or barcodes.
Parcel it as you’d like to receive it yourself – secure, tidy and ready to enjoy.
