We want Readerama to be a friendly, safe place for people who love books. To make that work, there are a few simple rules about how the site can be used.
Be legal, be honest, be kind
Please don’t use Readerama for anything unlawful, misleading or harmful. That includes fraud, harassment, hate speech, bullying, threats, or anything that could put someone at risk – especially children.
Share responsibly
Anything you post (reviews, messages, book listings, photos or descriptions) should be accurate, genuinely your own opinion, and something you’re allowed to share. Don’t copy text or images from Amazon, publishers’ sites or other users unless you have permission.
No harmful or extreme content
We don’t allow content that’s abusive, hateful, pornographic, violent, sexually explicit, or that promotes self-harm, eating disorders, illegal activity, or dangerous challenges or stunts.
Respect other people
Don’t impersonate others, invade privacy, mislead people, or pretend content is coming from Readerama when it isn’t. Keep conversations respectful and reviews fair.
Extra rules for selling books
- Only list items you’re allowed to sell
- Don’t relist the same book repeatedly
- Don’t try to take sales off Readerama
- Make sure your listings and reviews follow the same standards as the rest of the site
No advertising or promotions
Readerama isn’t a place for ads, spam, or promoting other services or websites. Images shouldn’t include advertising, and anything uploaded must be suitable for all users, including under-18s.
If things go wrong
If someone breaks these rules, we may remove content, suspend or close their account, and in serious cases we may need to involve the authorities.
In short: treat others well, follow the law, and help keep Readerama a trusted place to buy and sell books.
